Problems with GEM demo version

   I´ve just instaled a demo version of GEM 2010, and i was trying to do something, like import a obj mesh from sketckup, or even doing a primitive shape with no visualization. What am i doing wrong?

   Hi,

   Make sure you create a valid OBJ in your cad software. The OBJ file should be a PolyMesh file - not Nurbs - I would advise to see the video tutorials for that. There are also tips for that on the help file of the software (see the help menu)

   Hello, thanks for your prompt reply to my last question, but i´ve installed Gem v 2.0 and it worked perfectly with the obj file created. So i downloaded and installed again the 2010 version,but the results are the same, none of the used two squares in the center of the viewing area.

   Try this:

   In the command line type 3dfix and press enter
   Then load the obj, it should work - let us know (it can be related to language issues in windows)

   It didn't work, after the command is introduced,at the very next action, the program launches an error message: "An Excepton of class NilObjetException was not handled. The application must shutdown"

   Aditional information: I´ve tried to make it work in other computer with the same OS, winxp sp3 in spanish, and I obtained the identical results.

   We can assist online. It is related to the language of your windows system. If we can connect to you online, we may be able to understand the problem and fix that. You can contact us via email to schedule an online support session.

   There is one known graphics cards with a viewer problem (Nvidia Quadro FX3700). From what you describe, it is related to the installation of windows, that should be Spanish Enabled - and not Spanish interface - but we can ony be sure when exploring it on your side. We have many users that run on Spanish windows, and they manage to get it running.

    Is your windows system is not in English?

    Try typing 3Dfix in the GEM command line and press enter. after that try loading a mesh and see if it wokrs.
